Overdue Giacomin mailday show & tell.
Anyway, I'd had some cards piling up I'm finally getting going on uploading and cataloging so I thought I'd show some off:
First up, loved the design of the base cards from this release of Ultimate.
Pretty cool because it gives me, I guess you can call it a rainbow?
Trying to get at least a PSA 7 of all his older vintage cards, here's 3 to check off:
Some random stuff:
:
I pulled the Vezina Collection Eddie out of my boxes. Didn't hate that!
Couple real big ones here, in my opinion anyway. Always thought this was such a cool set.
Probably as close to a nameplate as I'll ever come, but still love this card!
Now some other cool things. One of my biggest problems with collecting has always been what I felt was not looking at my stuff enough. I've got a 2 slot graded box full of Eddie UM slabbed cards now, and 20-25 PSA cards. I'd been trying to figure out a way to store my cards that made looking at them easier, and just a more organized way in general to store them. I stumbled onto these pages while scouring the web. UltraPro used to make these, and they sell for ridiculous prices now but found these on eBay. Wasn't sure how the quality would be so I ordered a 5 pack of the PSA and a 5 pack of the BGS ones to test out. I think they look FANTASTIC.
They're a little on the pricey side, 5 pages costs 30 bucks, but they also do 25 pages for 100 bucks. Compared to one-touches it's about the same cost, but being able to store these in binders will be AWESOME. You can only fit 5-6 pages per binder, maybe a couple more for the thinner PSA ones but I have a nice oak bookcase my dad built me that I think will look really great with a bunch of binders stored. Plus, how easy to just grab a binder and look through the cards right? The pages hold the cards very securely. Probably so much that you wouldn't want to constantly have to remove and re-insert cards but they seem REALLY nice, and I don't think they would have any issue if the binder was stored on edge. Hope you enjoy, and if you're looking for a cool way to store slabbed cards these pages get high marks from me so far. I plan to order a pile of the BGS ones, well beyond what I need so I have them for the future.
Hope you enjoy the show! Already have a stack of Eddies building up again with about 10 more incoming!

Great collection, I really like the ITG stuff. I also like that idea for the slabbed cards in those sleeves for binders. A lot easier to display and probably help with reducing scratches.
Also as a side, I recognized the name Giacomin from a card I have listed on ebay. I have a 2011-12 ITG Ultimate 11th History of the Franchise In Net NYR Richter Lundqvist Vanbiesbrouck and Giacomin #/9. If needed, definitely give me a shout.

I collect game used and autographed cards of Beliveau, Lafleur and Maurice Richard. Can consider other nice Habs cards too.
