Target: did I miss something?
Stopped at local target hoping to score some packs. Was greeted by a sign that read...
"For the safety and security of our employees we will no longer sell MLB, NBA, NFL or NHL cards at this location"
What?!? Wonder what would prompt this reaction. You could just as easily say you're just not selling the. What happened to necessitate the "safety and security" messageHidden Content

Upper Deck has had some lawsuits from the sharpness of the card corners. It is why the 2020-21 series one (and extended) come with pre-rounded corners

Unless I missed it, the article never mentioned NHL, just the other sports and Pokeman being removed (I'm sure all were pulled but funny NHL omitted). Also, this incident didn't occur in the store or even list cards as the purpose of the robbery attempt. I'm sure there's a lot more too it but sounds to me that Target isn't making the money ( like on secondary sales) so why deal with the headaches.Last edited by ac4760; 07-10-2021 at 05:41 PM.

[QUOTE=ac4760;15035766]Also, this incident didn't occur in the store or even list cards as the purpose of the robbery attempt.[/]Brookfield police responded to the
Target on Bluemound Road in Brookfield a little after 8 a.m. on Friday, May 7. Police say a 35-year-old man was assaulted by four other men in the parking lot. The fight started after an argument over sports trading cards bought at the store.Police say the victim pulled out a gun and pointed it at the men. The four men took off.
Was all about cards. When you read other articles.

where I live they banned card sales about a month ago because a massive brawl broke out at the Target store in the mall and
can you imagine that...over sports cards, with kids around...they had to call in reinforcements because the security could not
handle it.
Just crazy with the prices on the secondary market.

Yeah things have gotten wild out there. It's at the point now where you basically need to make friends with the rep so that you know when the product will actually get to the shelves, and even then you've got only a fighting chance with any other lurkers. My Wal-Mart's shelves are utterly decimated for sports cards--I only go maybe once a month but every time I swing by the cards it's like a big hole...maybe one box of some soccer boxed set will be left behind. They even clear out the Parkhurst! LOL
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...
