Habs Captain Shea Weber's Career in Jeopardy?
Bombshell afternoon regarding Weber.
Friedman put out a story this afternoon that Weber has a severe and lingering foot/ankle injury that could be career-threatening, story here: https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article...ankle-problems

Brutal news for sure. Hard to picture Weber not being a part of the Habs plans for next year but he's ultimately got to do what is best for him. Likewise, the Habs may have to make some tough decisions and do what is best for the franchise.

Does he have a no movement clause? why would seatte consider taking him f there are questions on his health. Unlessthe Habs are putting this out there, and then not protect him. What would he bring as far as salary cap implications?

Seattle wouldn't take him - i think he has 5 more years north of $7 million due. Montreal is doing this simply because they know he wouldn't be taken and it protects another D-man.
I wonder if Ryan Suter could be a fit in Montreal now.

This news likely means that Montreal will lose a forward to Seattle as they can now protect their other key D-men. Will it be Armia or Byron?
The want list at this link features what I need of Gretzky, Roy, Ottawa Senators, and Miscellaneous sets. I also have a CFL want list on my page and if you have nothing from it I will consider other traders of current Ottawa Senators,Guy Lafleur, + trade bait.

IMO, Montreal would be wise to send a mid-value asset (pick? prospect?) to Seattle, to not take Allen.

True but there are other teams where picking a goaltender over their available forwards or D-men is more obvious. I fully expect Ottawa to lose one of their goalies, and who do they protect, Murray, Daccord or Gustafsson as all three appear to be first string goaltenders.

Yes, there’s a whole bunch of decent goalies available under 4 million which is Allen's salary.
I collect game used and autographed cards of Beliveau, Lafleur and Maurice Richard. Can consider other nice Habs cards too.

Yeah, I think there are so many decent goalie options available to Seattle, the ones taken will likely be from teams without legit options up front or on D, such as Arizona.
