    Back from the 80s

Hello to all Collecting baseball cards was a huge part of my childhood. I collected cards from 1984 to 1992, but I stopped when being a teen and chasing girls took over my love of baseball cards. My collection from the 80s is mostly Topps, Donruss and Fleer, which were the the cards a kid could easily get from a corner grocery store.

My purpose for collecting baseball cards as a kid was mostly to complete the set for that year. Beckett was around and I knew there was some value to baseball cards. I remember a Mickey Mantle RC listed in the $2000 range and a Honus Wagner card sold for less than a half a million. I also knew the "wax" cards weren't worth much, because there was so many of the same player! While completing these sets of Topps or Donruss cards, I would have twenty or more of each rookie in the set. I had a boatload of Don Mattingly, Mark McGwire, Canseco, Barry Bonds, and Roberto Alomar, to name a few. Unfortunately, what I didn't know at that time was grading!

Moving forward to now. I'm middle aged and I've started collecting again, but this time it's purely for value.
