Let's talk final rosters for teams. Surprise cuts, trades, and guys who made it that you thought would be cut. I'll start with the biggest one:

Bill Belichick has made his quarterback decision, and it will lead to one of the competitors being released. Mac Jones is set to start in Week 1 for the Patriots, according to the Boston Globe’s Jim McBride. The Pats, in turn, are releasing Cam Newton.

This move will cost the team $3.5MM in dead money, though offset language will allow New England to collect up to $1.5MM if Newton signs elsewhere. The Patriots did not try to trade Newton before cutting him, according to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio (on Twitter).

Cam Newton is a free agent again. Could he wind up in Washington if all the QBs there struggle? He's got some familiarity with Ron Rivera. Also possible is the Giants with the GM having seen Newton play for many years, including his MVP season and Super Bowl run. He'd be an instant upgrade over QB2 Mike Glennon and capable of pushing Daniel Jones or taking his job. It would echo fellow 2019 draft class alum Drew Lock, who saw veteran Teddy Bridgewater push and ultimately nab the job.

I think Cam Newton is done and why would another team take him. I hope hope no one takes him and the Pats lose 3.5 million dollars.
