ICE cards from Russia
Is anybody familiar with these cards? There seems to be a bunch of new "sets" popping up in Russia with alleged limited print runs.

I'm guessing these are Broder's or home made stuff?

I assume those are non-licensed, home made cards. If something looks really awesome - I suppose it might still be worth spending a few bucks on. I was tempted earlier this year to buy a Bill Ranford 1996 World Cup of Hockey card that someone in Russia was selling. It looked really nice, but I couldn't justify spending $30+ (with shipping) on a card produced by some fly by night company (or person?)

I mean if you like the look of the cards and they fill a pc the price is not that bad.

I have 1 card in my collection from a ICE set in my PC. The quality was pretty good I found and I don't mind adding oddball cards to my collection if there is some provenance with the card or set. I did count it as a "real" card in my collection since Russian ICE brand does have a history over there - at least in some small capacity.

These might be more legit than they let on. I know "Russian Ice" made some legit cards in the early 2000's across the pond over in Russia - so I think this is a continuation on that.

I think it's Similar to those " Russian Bear" NHL cards (if anyone remembers?) that came out of Russia 10 years or so ago... Everyone thought it was a Russian basement project, but I have learned from some Russian collectors that they were actually company for a little while (2-3 employees) until they folded. They were not licensed from the NHL of course, but still manufactured hockey cards. I think these Russian ICE sets might be a similar type of thing.
