The Miss Cut is the qualifier. I think what your asking is how many points are dropped because of the qualifier, the answer is 2. Basically most consider a 8MC to be a 6 if it didn’t have the qualifier. That is also how PSA scores the card if it’s in a set registry. When submitting cards for grading you can request no qualifier and they will grade it accordingly. Some qualifiers will be added to the cards grade regardless what you ask for and a miss cut card is one of those.

If you like the card and it’s for a PC at a price your happy with then you can’t go wrong. A lot of people live by the saying “buy the card not the grade”. There are tons of lower graded cards that look better than a higher grade version.

As far as being “trimmed”. Yes it’s possible trimmed cards get by the graders and they certainly have in the past. Can’t deny that. Also applies to lower graded cards looking better than higher. But…. The fact it’s graded by PSA is about as close to a insurance of it being a legit card. I don’t think a miss cut card is an automatic trimmed card. It just means when the manufacturers cut the card the sheet wasn’t aligned with the cutters which is/was very common
