@1970s I’ve done it both ways. Personally, I’ve never had anything reported damaged as long as I send in top loader and penny sleeve. Some people have not had such luck. Even what is called PWE (plain white envelope) deals are generally safe with a top loader, but not worth the risk for high value items. Some people will tell you to use card board on either side of the top loader to increase rigidity, hide contents, and prevent punctures.

If you don’t have top loaders for mailing I would suggest getting a lot of used ones off the net or reach out to @doniceage

Todd,
Nice to see you getting on the boards and exploring. If your looking to get your feet wet check out the baseball forum and if you have questions feel free to ask in that forum as it regards baseball cards.

can be costly
if trades are low-end.
when i m ake trades to the states
i usually dont mind
pwe deals.
i see them get to me
ex-piece of card board on boths sides of card
some times put into a x-mas card..
not sure if that helps
on shipping to us over here..
