While I'm not saying it was a positive Chet got hurt it may end up being better in the long term somehow. I honestly don't think he was ready this year with his stick figure body and to me it would be better if he added some weight and muscle until he hits the court. Better to be delayed and start off better than to struggle for years or something and turn it around just because teams aren't as patient with players now. Just think he is too thin now and while you obviously don't want anybody to get hurt maybe he can use this as a silver lining type thing and come out more NBA ready than to get embarrassed for a whole season.

The NBA regular season is always weak but it seems to be especially weak this season. Seems like the only drama in the East this season is if the Bucks or the Celtics will represent the East in the Finals. The West is totally unpredictable at this point. Some "good teams" out there are probably going to be thankfully they won't have to be the #8 seed for a shot at the playoffs this year.

I wonder if a lot of teams are hedging bets early to avoid looking like they're tanking season-long for Wembanyama.

One really impressive thing was this recent stat line from Jokic -- no one since Wilt has put up these kinds of numbers:

While I don't expect them to beat them in the playoffs due to their overall lack of experience, the Cavaliers are giving the Celtics and Bucks a run for the regular season in the East. They've beaten the Celtics twice and just beat the Bucks tonight. Cleveland is especially good at home, posting the league's best home record so far.

Yep, Nets beat Cavs last night and are on a 9 game streak, biggest in the league. Philly is also on fire as of late with the second longest winning streak at 8. There are now five Eastern teams with win percents ranging from 62.5 to 70.6%, all with 20 wins or more (Boston, Milwaukee, Brooklyn, Cleveland, and Philly). Meanwhile the weak West only has three teams above 60 win % - Denver, New Orleans, Memphis. Phoenix in particular is slumping bad, winning just 3 of their last 10 games.

Wow, I thought Jokic's triple double wouldn't be outdone this season -- but Luka Doncic put up stats that not even Wilt did: first ever 60 point, 20 rebound, 10 assist triple double in NBA history:

As an aside, I notice European and African players are really dominating the modern basketball game. We've got Luka, Jokic, Giannis, Embiid, and (likely) soon to be Wembanyama. Americans are really starting to fall behind foreign born talent.

Terrible incident between Magic and Pistons recently:

    https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/...-being-ejected

I cannot stand either Wagner or Hayes; saw them try to pull punk stuff against the Cavs this season, too. Hayes' retaliatory hit was even worse than Wagner's shove to the bench, though -- hitting a guy in the back of the head is very dangerous; such moves aren't even allowed in combat sports like the UFC. Just a really ugly situation, and sucks again that the Pistons are once again involved (I remember Malice at the Palace almost 20 years ago).
