It’s a gutsy move, but I also think it could be a smart one for the one reason that Irving is a free agent after the season…

Mavs have a half year audition for him, they obviously hope he keeps his cool and focuses for one playoff push and maybe Kyrie uses all his motivation to get his next contract. Mavs don’t have to keep him next year if they want to let him hit free agency

I read that Luka liked the move, surprisingly. But I don't think it will work long term. Kyrie can help for awhile, but something always comes up with him.

Very true! It seemed like coaches are having trouble working with him too so can Jason Kidd handle this? Playoffs getting closer so let’s see how they do

    Another major trade!

So glad Westbrook is out of LA. Him playing for the Lakers was terrible for all involved. He even had an argument with Coach Ham in the last game, the one where LeBron set history and passed Kareem in total points. It's interesting he's in Utah now, as they also have some former Cavs players I remember well.

Oh wow now just saw Durant went to the Suns! Definitely some epic trades this deadline!

Yes, this trade deadline has been unreal!

Cam Thomas has been taking the world by storm, 3 game totals:

134 points, shooting 42 of 75 from field and 36 of 40 from the line with 14 threes

Lots of moves at the deadline end, though none as big as the Durant deal overnight.

Word is Westbrook will be bought out by Utah, which makes sense as they're rebuilding and he's never been liked by the fan base there (at least one incident I recall offhand). Chicago reportedly has expressed interest.

Yeah this overshadows everything else that has been happening. If the Suns can't win with Durant this year they aren't going to win anytime soon. Going all in now.

All the trades were great, but Westbrook I think is really not wanted by most teams, so I think he will be out of Utah and another team before next year!

Much as I loved Russ when he was with OKC, he's really gone downhill since then. He has a lot of fire and passion, but when it's channeled wrongly, his stubbornness and attitude are hard for teams to deal with. I think he pretty much has just one chance left, and wherever he ends up, he's going to need to be less combative with his team (coaches etc) and hopefully end his career on a less negative note. We'll see what happens.
