I think Purdy is the new QB in 49ers land.

Except the injury to Purdy and him not willing to play/unable to play in one of the biggest moments for this team means you can't really rely or trust him moving forward. Why would you want that as a leader? If the 49ers had a QB that didn't get hurt for the past couple of seasons they would have won at least 1 Super Bowl and maybe a few more. The rest of the team is flat out awesome but the QBs keep getting hurt.

His injury will keep him out at least 6 months after surgery ,if he elects to have it. Possibly even longer, and could affect his arm strength.

I think Mr. Brady might be back in play for SF.

Shanahans offensive schemes don't put a lot of emphasis on qb protection..his qb's pressured a lot.. Get the ball out to those receivers. tight end to block, ....not very much.

I think this is it for Brady retiring. If he were to go back on another retirement statement such as in 2022, it would be pretty shocking but guess that anything is possible

What a career, glad I got to watch him play for 20+ years!

Who will TB have as their Week 1 starting QB in 2023?

Looks like Aaron Rodgers will move and Jimmy Garoppolo should probably sign with a new team. Tampa will be an attractive destination for the free agent QBs so maybe one of these two guys

    True on all points.

I was also wrong thinking Purdy was a wuss for exiting that game so quickly. Looks like he is going to have Tommy John surgery and unfortunately miss all of next year. So with him gone and Brady now announcing he is retiring it looks like the 49ers are going to be going with Trey Lance and trying to sign a veteran backup QB.
