I suspect that this is going to turn out to be some nonsense thing where the high bidder realizes he can jump on a plane to Florida, walk on the beach, and get some of the dirt himself for a fraction of the cost, and cancel his bids. But it sure is fun to give people something to talk about.

There's not really anything that immediately springs to mind as to what would be a comparable bit of hockey "piece of history" to own. Sure, there's "game used ice" from the Stanley Cup Finals which kinda stretches the boundaries of sensibility, but what would be some truly next-level "memorabilia" that will inevitably one day end up on eBay?

Have some fun pitching the most absurd things that you can come up with.

Not sure if anything that crazy would end up happening in the NHL, but maybe something weird like an NHL official contract or something like that cut up and put into cards, including the cut auto.

Game Used Ice is something I totally expect them to try (eventually). Obviously you'd be getting water, sealed in some kind of plastic, and imbedded into the card. Brent Burns beard clipping? (wouldn't be the first time hair was put into cards)

Already a thing for sure, and only a matter of time until in cardboard format: Potentially risky business if it's a pack-inserted thing -- would be best-served as a redemption item.
