opc blank backs
has anyone read or saw any info on how many there are? 50?

ive read articles as low as 5 to 15 and others say 100.

Nobody knows print run on the retro blank backs. The reds are marked 1/1.
Over the years I've seen player collectors say that they have never seen one of the player they collect. In my personal player PC I've seen up to 3 on any given year and there's a year or two that I have not been able to find a single one.
Personally, I would say there are no more than 5 on any given year.

Same boat as @zunato as a player collector. There’s a year where I think I have three Gorges. His last couple years I do not believe I’ve seen a single copy.

I picked up my PC players on eBay for this season. The seller must have had 10 or so blanks which seems crazy high if they are only 5 to 15 but who knows

OPC boxes use to with copies of the cards on the bottom of box. It was a four card panel with I believe two different sets of players. I know some Ebay sellers sold them as blank back when they clearly are not.

as with zunato i bought a mcdavid on the bay which once i received it it was clearly a box bottom

Man I love opening OPC, it always gives and gives. Week after I opened a box I was putting the better cards on a list and only then I noticed a retro blank back. This discovery was as sweet as opening a box once again :D But some announcement on the print run would be great
