    8-Year Extension for Cole Caufield

    Habs fans, rejoice!

    https://www.nhl.com/canadiens/news/e...ld/c-344733474

MONTREAL - Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes announced on Monday that the team has agreed to terms on an eight-year contract extension (2023-24 to 2030-31) with forward Cole Caufield. The deal will pay him an average salary of $7.85 million per season.

    ----

There was a bit of conjecture out there (some more informed that others) that he'd go for a bridge deal in the hopes of a higher pay day 2-4 years down the road. Some thought he was holding out. Others thought the Habs should lowball him (that always works out well in the long term). And some of us....some of us were just patient and waiting for the deal to get done.

I'm quite happy today. Ensures that I won't have to worry about any PC problems in the near future. Haha
Habs fan and collector! Main PC's: Carey Price, Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Juraj Slafkovsky, and of course...

If he stays healthy, that's a great deal. Under 8 millions for a potential +40 goals scorer, that will be a great bargain in a few years with the rebuild completed and the Habs needing every penny to fight for the Cup.
