This is going to be one of the biggest what if stories going forward that most people outside of these fanbases will forget about if these teams do nothing in the immediate future. They both seemed to be on upward swings with no end in sight and then they pulled off this shocker of a trade. Personally I think the move hurt the Wolves as they didn't get better by it IMO and the Knicks it was a wash. But now we will never know nor have a data point to compare to moving forward.
The move like I said makes it less exciting for the season but whereas before I could have seen the Wolves outperform the Thunder it is basically the Thunder out West and a tier of teams below them. Lakers, Wolves, etc. But for me I think the West is strong 2-10 but there really isn't much separating them. I've never been a big believer in Luka who doesn't take conditioning and training seriously and I thought it was a miracle the Nuggets did so well last season with such a thin bench. They are clearly still out of gas and lack the talent to win again IMO.
For the East the only teams that could challenge the Celtics are the 76ers at 100% strength and the Knicks. The 76ers are never 100% it seems and the Knicks went ahead and made a move that we are still unsure about. Either way the East is weaker and there will be an advantage to being the #1 seed playing the #4 versus the 2 vs 3 matchup. Out West I don't see the seeding that crucial as oppose to the opponent you play. The Nuggets own the Lakers and the Wolves had figured out the Nuggets. Now who knows but nobody coming out of the West will have an easy path. That will be a bigger bloodbath this season IMO. The East will have the final couple of playoff spots being teams that can't make the NBA Finals. Basically anybody out West could though in theory.*New for October* Selling All My Cards Here------>Hidden Content

I thought this was interesting:
#1 draft pick of 22-23 Paolo Banchero has had a good start to the year.
He put up 33 points and 11 rebounds in the Magic's season opening game joining only Shaquille O'Neal and Tracy McGrady as the only players in Magic franchise history to put up at least 30 points and 10 rebounds in the season opening game.
On October 28th he put up a career high 50 points along with 13 rebounds, 9 assists and 2 blocks in a win against the Pacers.[-- 1181 Total -- Hidden Content Cards --]

He's easily one of the best young players in the game. But the problem is the Orlando Magic are a total wasteland in the card market. Nobody has cared about them since they had the off season where they were going to sign 2 of the 3 out of Grant Hill, Tim Duncan, and Tmac. Dwight Howard was really really good for them but it is basically all forgotten and I haven't heard anybody talk or care about the Magic in decades. Shaq put them on the map and they were really really popular with him and Penny but the team's popularity has fallen off the face of the Earth. If it wasn't for a few other NBA teams below them they would be a surprising worst in the NBA. That's one of my main complaints with the NBA. They have like 4 or 5 teams you could easily remove and nobody would really miss them as the league is too watered down IMO.

What a time for me to be a Thunder and Cavs fan -- only two undefeated teams left! Really enjoying this season so far!

Well there goes that
From Charania: Orlando Magic superstar Paolo Banchero has been diagnosed with a torn right oblique and is sidelined indefinitely, sources tell ESPN. He will be re-evaluated in four-to-six weeks and return to play will be based on how he responds to treatment.
Sucks for him and the Magic since he was off to such a great start and had high expectations this season

At what point do the Bucks admit they made the dumbest hiring of all time by getting Doc Rivers to tank an otherwise NBA Finals Eastern Conference threat to a .500 team that's a total afterthought? They may even lose Giannis because of it.

They never should've fired Bud. He coached them to a title, and they panicked and overreacted after a first round exit that was due more to injuries and a legendarily overachieving 8th seed than anything. Now they've been chaotically throwing stuff at a wall ever since, hoping something will stick, with ineffectual coach and player changes, like the Lillard trade, which is the one move that I admit looked good on paper, but actually killed their defense and led to Holiday winning another title elsewhere.
It's been a massive downhill plunge ever since the ring for that franchise. I don't think anyone saw this coming so fast.

Yup
People always overreact and the media makes the guy seem like he needs to be replaced but the replacement ends up being worse and the people wish they'd have the original back. At least they got a ring because it doesn't seem like they will win another one anytime soon. Just go look at the future draft picks they DON'T have at the moment.

Bucks put up a fight against the Cavs tonight -- watched the whole thing, great game -- but Donovan Mitchell delivered the dagger winning shot, and the Cavs remain undefeated.
Meanwhile, here's some disturbing news on Joel Embiid: https://www.si.com/nba/joel-embiid-s...mily-in-column
