    Dale Sr autographs

what are the thoughts on the Dale Earnhardt, Ken Golden certified cards floating around on Ebay? think these would pass PSA/Beckett? Think the COA is worth it? Pretty easily forged IMO

I would just look up one that has been certified and compare the auto. If it is close might as well as get it slabbed if your plan on moving it.

My personal thoughts... while this guy is "Legit", right after Dale's death, it seemed that just about every vender at Card Shows had a Dale Sr autograph with the "Ken Goldin Certificate". Seriously, they were everywhere. I have had NASCAR autographs certified by Goldin and could not move them. Seems like the autographs are "different". I saw a guy who had two Dale Jr Autos and they did not look like the same hand writing, but were certified by Goldin. Only way to tell is to send it in.

i actually thought of this last week & sent in two for the Beckett ( quick opinion ) that i felt were pretty spot on compared to others that i have seen them certified & got the thumbs down response. feel like its a crapshoot to get one certified or not because ive seen a few that makes me scratch my head lol

It has always been my belief that these cards or any items with a COA like that (one that can just be switched to any item) is practically worthless. Not saying yours is but I can see why these would be a hard mover.

If you take another card and forge it and just move the COA from your card to that forged one does that COA change it? No and it just shows how pointless those COAs are. Upper Deck came up with the matching holostickers a few years later but even those aren't 100%.

And yes I know that sometimes pack pulled autograph cards can be bad for a bunch of reasons but like 99.9999999999% of pack pulled autographs are legit when you buy them from eBay/shows/etc.
