Possibly dumb tariff question....
Have the prices gone up on new boxes based on tarrifs? It dosent seem so but I could be wrong. And if they haven't, then why is comc raking us over the coals on shipping now?

COMC is getting pathetic. I would like to get my cards I need from there and sell everything and close it down, but I can't afford it!!!
Plus most of the cards there are already mine and not purchased from them. Why would I pay twice for something I already own? This is getting ridiculous. When Trump's term is over will tarriffs be reversed? Man... what a joke.
I haven't bought much for boxes lately, but prices don't seem to have gone up.Master List: Hidden Content

I mean why would they want you to get your cards back. I mean in theory they get paid to keep your cards for you. Also, if you take them and sell them on their site they win again by getting another commission etc. I mean it is a good business model but folks are getting fed up with all the price increases and such. See so much hate for them nowadays but some folks still say it the cheapest option for them to accumulate cards (especially those overseas). How many folks can wait for years to get their cards back. Definitely puts a hiatus in folks getting their cards in a timely fashion if you wait on a new president especially if a Dem does not win next election.

That's a very good question. I'm sure on some level it's "baked in" to the Canadian MSRP so the distributors pay it up front, and then distribute the costs to the LCS who then raises up the prices for the customers.
The COMC thing--I'm over 200 cards in my inventory now and probably have another 40-50 on ePack that I'm waiting for them to make transferable (last of the PWHL GDM's, the Ovi series), so it's going to murder me when it comes time to cash those cards out. In theory if I wanted to sell my Ovi GDM Gold for the record breaking goal, that could end up covering my duties. LOL

I just had eight cards shipped from COMC. Eight, that's it. I can't afford to let it build up and pay all at once now. It cost me $30 CDN to ship eight cards. Sadly, it was still cheaper than ebay.

If you're talking about cards, why would they go up in the US? They're reciprocal Canadian tarrifs. Canadians pay them. And I'm not sure I've read much about hockey card tarrifs in the news.

Things are certainly more expensive for someone. Either the importers or the end consumer. That's how tarrifs work.
