    Cool Hey, y'all!

I'm Duane, a U of Florida alum now in enemy territory of Tennessee (hence the user name LOL). I was a big card collector when I was a kid back in the 70s & 80s (I remember the taste of Topps gum) and fortunately my Mom didn't throw my cards away – somehow I had the sense to put them in binders/boxes etc. that I've lugged around for 40-odd years now. I recently "rediscovered" my cards while cleaning out the closet and am now in the process of organizing my collection because basically I've forgotten what I have. Found SCF through FB and all I can say is, WOW. There's so much to see here, it looks overwhelming. Any advice about navigating SCF that anyone wants to share with this old newbie would be much appreciated!

    Duane,
Well let me ask what is your goal with your card Duane? Are you looking to move your cards to sell or are you looking to get back into the hobby that you enjoyed as a kid. Letting us know the perspective that you want to enjoy the hobby be it a seller, buyer, or another angle might help us in the advice we give or the direction we point you. Glad to have you on the site.

Yeah sure just figure out what sport you are most interested in and select that Sports Card Trading and Sports Talk. Then you can either read or post stuff about that sport in it or head to the selling/trading area for that sport. So if you are into football head to the Football Card Forum and select what you want to do buy/sell/trade/talk/etc and then repeat that if you are into other sports.

If you need it broke down further with links to those if you can't find them just let me know and I'll do it or somebody else on here can.

Good questions! Right now I'm thinking of a mixture, keeping a few favorite teams and players and selling the rest. I suppose that means I'll be more of a seller here, but I'll probably wind up trading for or buying a few, too.

Thanks for the welcome! Right now I anticipate being more of a seller than a buyer. There are some cards that I''ll have a hard time parting with, but I'd say about 80-90% of what I've seen so far I'll want to sell. Right now that would be 6,000-8,000 cards.

Thanks! I've been sorta looking around the site, so hopefully I'll get accustomed to it. Like I said, it's been 40 years since I've even looked at my cards

Then the thing to do is create a thread what you are looking for (with buying or trading for them). If you are trading you can share a link to stuff you have put up for trade or possibly sell. So, you could create various posts and link the together. Some folks only trade and do not buy while others just buy what they need.
