Best blaster boxes?
Curious what people’s thoughts are about the best blaster boxes to open. I love hobby boxes but am getting priced out of the market. I still enjoy opening packs from time to time. So
1. What box has the greatest potential?
2. What box is the most consistent?I collect Brodeur for my PC

I would say that 2024-25 Series 1 (Hudson YG) or 2025-26 series 1 (demidov YG) will be good value if you can find it for under $40
I have a feeling that 2025-26 Series 2 will be pretty good value because of the Schaefer YG. Wouldn't surprise me of those got flipped up weeks after release date.
I still believe that 2019-20 series 2 is great value if you can get it for under $100. Makar YG, Suzuki YG, Quinn Hughes YG Canvas and jack hughes YG canvas. I think Igor's YG canvas is in series 2 too.
2021-22 series 1 for under $20 might not be too bad either (Caufield YG)Last edited by cjb; 03-01-2026 at 05:53 PM.

Cool I will keep an eye out. What about the cards like Allure blaster, etc.. Any value there?

Anything that has an "exclusive" variant/parallel available in it tends to be a good option.
This year's OPC blasters have the Yellow parallels. Doesn't do much for me (clashes with the Habs colours LOL) but may work for some.
Series 1/2 blasters are always consistent. You'll get your rookies and insert ratios.
I found that this year's PWHL blasters had way better value than the hobby boxes. Solid YG odds, the Pink Dazzlers, etc.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

I don't open allure so I wouldn't know. From what i heard it's not that great. Other than upper deck flagship, I donsee great value in anything else. O pee platinum is pretty good, but pulling a valuable hit is hard

Sounds like series 1 and 2 are definitely the way to go. I might find a PWHL to crack as well!

I broke a lot of UD1 21-22, and the condition of the YGs wasn't the best. A lot of the YGs had a rough top edge, and from the back, the right edge was often bad too.
To answer the original question, I would stay away from Allure, a lot of roller marks in the back of my cards in the past few years. Artifacts is usually bad too. Maybe UD1 24-25 or 25-26 for blasters. UD 2 21-22 hobby is cheap at the moment if you look around, ICE 22-23 is semi-affordable too
