Top all-time point getter by team

Saw that Anne Kopitar is now the all-time most career points for the LA Kings. Was happy for him, he has had an amazing career and to do this right before retirement all the more special. I saw the list of all-time career points by team, and was surprised by a few names, and lack of points. I am surprised over they entire franchise of the Leafs known has cracked 1000 points. Also love the number of D-men, they are often overlooked.

    Any surprises for you?

The fact that Mats Sundin has LESS than 1000 points, and still has the most points as a Maple Leaf, is crazy! And that's coming from a Sens fan!
Always looking for Senators cards! Must be a draft pick, or the card is identifiable as a Senators card before I want it!

The one that standouts to me is Ray Bourque. Of all of the players listed he is on only defenseman to be a teams all time points leader. Which is truly amazing.

The fact that Mats Sundin has LESS than 1000 points, and still has the most points as a Maple Leaf, is crazy! And that's coming from a Sens fan!

The Ballard years really screwed with the team.

In the case of Sundin specifically, 5 of his 18 years in the League were played for the Nordiques(4), and Vancouver(1). Sundin had 987 as a Leaf, and 362 points with the Nords and 'Nucks. How might that have changed, if Ownership hadn't been so poor, or if Fletcher had bit the bullet on a one year extension, instead of poisoning the well trying to force Sundin to take a trade during 2007-08, he would have had his 1000 pts as a Leaf.

The one that standouts to me is Ray Bourque. Of all of the players listed he is on only defenseman to be a teams all time points leader. Which is truly amazing.

Bourque has less than 100 more games played than Johnny Bucyk, #2 on the list for the Bruins, but almost 200 more points. Although, Bourque is not the only D-Man on the list though, as Roman Josi is the All-Time Points leader for the Nashville Predators.

In my honest opinion, the coolest thing about that list is that there are 3 players on the list who have more points for their franchise than Gretzky has with the Oilers. Crosby, Ovechkin, and Howe. Gretzky hit the 1669 in 9 seasons with the Oilers, while Crosby and Ovie are in their 21st seasons(with Ovie just passing Gretzky's 1669 a couple of days before this list came out), and Howe played 25 with Detroit.

Additionally, the only players on the list who played less than 9 seasons with their team and are listed as the franchise leader for points are Jonathan Marchessault with 7 seasons for Vegas, 417 points, Jared McCann in his 5th season with Seattle, 278 points, and Clayton Keller in his 2nd season with Utah with 158 points. Rick Nash played 9 seasons with Columbus to lead the franchise in points with 547 points. The four of them combined don't equal Wayne's 1669 points.

While Kopitar is now the All-Time Points leader for the Kings, Gretzky is in 5th on that list for LA with 918 points in 539 games as a member of the Kings, just a little over a third of the games Kopitar has played. The man Kopitar passed in Dionne with 1307 points, did it in 921 games. No shade on Koptar, but just amazing players in Gretzky and Dionne.
