The races for the Atlantic and the final East wild card spot are going to be crazy.

Habs can earn the X tomorrow. They’re right in there with Tampa and the Sabres for 1st, what a great time to be a fan.

In all seriousness, this playoffs will be a fun one. I hope Edmonton can get over the hump for McDavid's sake - so I'll be rooting for them.

Hoping for a fun miracle run for to a final for Buffalo or maybe Montreal in the East. Fun teams to watch!

Since the Leafs are out of it, it will be nice to sit back and enjoy all of these series as a neutral fan.

Final weekend of the regular season. It's crazy how much is still to be determined.

We know 7 of the 8 teams in the Eastern Conference, but the final Metro spot likely won't be decided until Game #82 for everyone involved.
The top 3 in the Atlantic are decided but none of the positions are firmed up.
The two Wild Card teams are both from the Atlantic too.
Carolina needs just a point to sew up 1st in the Conference.
The good people of Detroit will suffer for another year.
Philadelphia, Columbus, and the Islanders all play the Canadiens in the final week of the season - their desperation levels are the mirror of what it was like for the Habs last season. Crazy.

The West....
The Central is set. Colorado has 1st overall, Dallas and Minnesota will face off in Round 1.
The Pacific is wild. Vegas and Edmonton are IN, but no positions are close to being locked. The Ducks have been slipping but with their game in hand advantage could steal 1st still, or could fall down to the Wild Card if the Kings go on a run...which could set up yet another Oilers-Kings 1st round matchup.
The Preds could still make it, while the Jets are on life support.

So the East is mostly set.
Buffalo wins the Atlantic, as we all predicted.
MTL - TB, home ice TBD
Carolina wins 1st in Conference.
PIT - PHI, home ice TBD
Boston and Ottawa still jockeying for the wild card positioning.

The West....wow.
Colorado has 1st overall.
DAL - MIN is set.
The Kings are 20 minutes away from punching their ticket and even though they're in WC2, they could theoretically still win the Pacific Division. Their last two games are Calgary and Vancouver. Should be two easy wins for them.
Vegas is up 2-0 on the Jets and finish off against Seattle.
EDM is tied with Colorado tonight and finishes against the Canucks.
The Ducks have the Wild and Predators. Their odds don't look great and they could fall down to the WC spot.
