Card show at the Cow Palace (SF) this weekend.

Hey, there is a big President's day card show at the Cow Palace (San Francisco) the weekend of the 23rd-25th. Is anybody going? Just wondering.

    Thanks, Eric

I also went yesterday. How'd you make out? I found some nice things, and found a couple of good deals, but holy cow, people wanted close to book a LOT of the time! It was kind of a bust considering it was an "okay" show having driven from Sacramento for it.

For my first show I was pretty excited thinking there would be a whole bunch of tables set up, but I thought there were going to be a lot more. I think I did good, got some pretty nice cards. The thing with me though was I collect rookies and prospects and what not while most of the booths were for vintage collectors. Still a fun show (even though you had to pay for parking and the ticket to get in). I agree with you on the close to book selling. I figured at a card show, the people selling would be giving really good deals, but I did not seem to find them. Most guys sold at book and most of the stuff could have been bought for much less on Ebay. O well, my only regret is not buying more singles from this one guy. He had boxes of gu and autos and whatnot for very cheap. Like 05 Epic gu for 2-3 bucks each. A sweet spot 06 update quad gu for 5 bucks. Wish I coulda picked up more of those singles but I am not complaining. Were you going after the vintage or what???

Nah, mainly recent stuff. I was a little floored by the amount of vintage too.
