    Unhappy STOLEN CARDS

hey everyone. im sorry to say that this may be the worst day of my life. yesterday someone stole around $2000 worth of my rookie cards. i was advised to file a police report but there is not much that they can do. i called all the local card stores and told them to be on the look out for some of the serial numbered ones. all of my rookies were stolen except these:

jay bouwmeester spa future watch auto'd rookie /999
    kovalchuk vanguard rookie /404
gaborik pros and prospects rookie SGC 96 /1000
havlat sp game used rookie /900

while those were the best rookies in my collection, i still want to find the others. i had some rookies that are tough to get and trade for. i just beg of everyone on this board to be on the look out. please look at my rookie list on this link and tell me if you see these cards posted any time soon. some have serial numbers so they will be easy to find.

if i dont find these within a month i am thinking about getting out of hockey cards all together. if this happens i will sell all my cards around 35% beckett value. i still have some decent game used and auto's, but the rookies i had were my favorite. i dont know how these people live with themselves. absolute ™™™™™™™™s.

Sorry to hear that big guy. How did they get stolen? Sadly enough filing a police report really won't do a damn thing as they really only care about items valued over $10,000.

I am curious about how they got stolen as well.... Sorry to hear that.. I have had a few cards stolen over the years, but not 2k worth.

yea i didnt think the police report would do anything. i do have a question for ya IGGY. could you give me names of the card stores in the pittsburgh area so i can inform them. the ones i hit so far are in fox chapel, cranberry, and ross park mall. if you could that would be great.

here is how they got stolen...it is my own stupid ™™™ fault:

everyone knows i have been making scans on a school computer because i dont have a scanner. well i was thinking about selling some cards on ebay so i took them in a small box to school with me to scan them. i scanned them and put them in my book bag. later that day i set my bag down aroun 3:30 in the gym for track. when i came back later that day the cards were stolen. everything in my bag was there except the cards. i guess i just trusted people too much not to go through my bag. no one even knew i had any cards with me. i dont go to a huge public school either, i go to a small private school, so maybe it will be easier to track people down. im still debating whether or not to offer a reward.

I really don't know if any big guy, sorry. When I actually did collect cardboard, I would just go to shows and flea markets... card shops were always too expensive for me.

yea im going to have to get a different phone book maybe at a library or something. my phone book didnt cover the pittsburgh area. also, if anyone searches on ebay frequently i ask that you please keep your eyes peeled. i know finding them wont benefit you but if you can imagine how sick i am knowing i lost $2000 worth of rookies, helping me would be awesome. i will say if anyone comes across them on ebay i will personally buy them any card(s) they want totaling up to $50-$75. thats the best reward i can offer. sorry.
