Thread: "Special" Players

    "Special" Players

    Every year I try to look over the major sports and pick a couple of players that I consider "special", meaning players that are on another level seperating them from the crowd.

    Then I will go about collecting these players cards in the off season of their sport.

    Right now these players for me are

    Michael Vick and Mark Prior. I will probably take a bit of a risk and start up with LeBron James as well.

    I don't watch too much hockey so I don't have a particular player there.

    Just curious to see who you guys consider "special" talents.

    Yeah, Gaborik is a great choice. One player who I see just dominating everyone the last 2 years but he cards don't get enough respect is T-Mac. The guy is a BEAST and he is unguardable... only T-Mac with bad shooting can shut himself down.

    Baseball - Soriano, Mark Prior, Kerry Wood
    Basketball - Amare
    Football - Vick
    Hockey - Rick Nash

    Basketball --- Kobe/Shaq

    Baseball --- Roger Clemens (2 wins from 300; 6 Cy Youngs..can't do better than that)

    Football --- Jerry Rice

    Hockey -- no clue (right now, it's gotta be Giguere of Mighty Ducks, lolol)

    Tennis --- Serena Williams

    Golf ---- Tiger

    Soccer -- no idea

    For the past week, Preston Wilson has been on fire. But his hitting may die out.
