    Adrian Peterson Inks Exclusive Agreement

    From Beckett.com

Well-known trading card institutions Peach State Sports and Dave & Adam's Card World announced today that they have reached an exclusive agreement with former University of Oklahoma superstar running back Adrian Peterson. The multi-year deal grants them the exclusive rights to Peterson's memorabilia, trading card contracts and personal appearances.

Peterson, a 2005 All-America selection who rushed for 4,045 yards and 41 touchdowns in just 31 games as a Sooner, is widely considered to be a top-10 pick in next month's NFL Draft and likely will the first running back selected.

"Our company has done a lot of business with Peach State over the years, but this is our first joint business venture," says Dave & Adam's CEO Adam Martin. "After working with Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart last year, I think we learned a lot and feel that we are uniquely qualified to represent one of the premier players in this year's draft."

Adds Peach State Sports President Jim Grant: "Ever since our deal with Chipper Jones ended in 2001 we have been looking to re-enter this marketplace. We feel Adrian Peterson is a special player and will have more impact on the collectibles industry than any other rookie in the 2007 draft class."

Peterson finished second in Heisman voting to USC's Matt Leinart in 2004, the highest finish ever for a freshman, and will most likely be one of the most collected rookies of 2007 when new products begin releasing shortly after the draft.

"He'll be the top-ranked running back by collectors as long as he's selected by a team positioned to make him an immediate starter," says Dan Hitt, Beckett Media's Sports Data Manager. "He could wind up as the player in greatest demand from the entire class if a team with a huge collector base, like the Oakland Raiders, selects him. However, he'll start out much lower if he goes to a team with dormant collector interest like the Cleveland Browns."
