    ULTIMATE WINNERS - GTS contests

Sports is all about records (I know, I know, Vince Lombardi once said, "..winning isn't everything; it's the only thing)......

So, I figure, let's give recognition to the folks who are great at guessing the winning teams and the scores of the games being played. So, I am using this thread to document the overall first, second, and third place finishers for the GTS games

I will be making this thread a sticky thread in a couple of days (so folks can just find out overall winners for a GTS contest by looking for this thread at the top of the Trivia and Contests Forum)

Overall results in the standings for top 3 finishers are as follows in the posts below

In edit (9/22/2004): this is a post from Iggy, which he made back on 4/16/2003) to explain the Guess the Score contests -

"** Guess The Score Contest **
Okay, everyday I'll pick a game to where you can attempt to guess the score of a MLB game later today. Here are the rules :

1)Have to guess the correct winning team to win.

2)Closest to the actual score (over & under worth same amount of 1 point per run).

    Tie breaker if needed :
Person closest without going over of the winning teams score. If tied entries are all over the actual score, the closest over then will decide the winner. If still tied, closest to the losing teams score without going over wins.

3)Scores will be on a first come, first serve basis with no repeating of scores.

The winner will receive 100 CardCash. I'll try to post what game I want guessed on early so we can get a bunch of entries each day."
