As usual I got up today and headed out to the armory early. I figured if I went early I would see htwheelz01 there and sure enough Jim was there with his buddies. Talked to him for a while as he made his way around the shows and picked up some tidbits. He left before the draft and I stayed til after 3 talking to some new people as well as old friends.
One guy had a nice Adrian Peterson from National Treasures so I had to ask him if I could take a shot. He didn't mind and of course asked what I was going to do with it. Just told him I do little write up month to month to show Kentucky collectors and others what happens to come from time to time at the show as you never know.

As you can see the 3 color A.P. in there along with 3 various printing plates of Maroney and a few other nice top notch guys. Needless to say he had some other stuff as well in his other two cases. I just had to get a shot of A.P. as he is the barometer of HOT right now besides the new release of the various rookies that have come out in Press Pass and UD which he had some as well Long, Woodson, Brohm, etc. The later two being for the state of Kentucky fans.
Here the pick ups that I picked up for 4 for a $1. So he gave me the 13 of them for $3 which I thought was a good deal.
These basketball cards were all numbered to 250 down to 100 and I like the ticket look as well. So picked them up so it not like it broke the bank as all the cards for less than a pack of almost even a low end product.

I don't do football so I will be the first to admit I have no clue what they book but to me where can you get cards numbered to under 50 for .25 cents. So seems like a good pick up for me to just throw in a trade in the future or whatever. So I picked those 3 up.

Don't see much hockey and to see a 07/08 insert of a quality goaltender was all I needed to see to pick it up. The Topps Heritages is a parallel which I have always like so I will pick up any numbered stuff of hockey for that price. The Joe T. was a sample while the other was baseball refractor from back in the day.

As for guys and gals that like the older inserts there a few dealers that set up that have this stuff at great prices while others as I showed above have some high quality cards at good prices. I think the guy wanted $500 or $550 for the A.P. which books $800 if I am not mistaken. Of course I rather spend my time and buy thousand of parallels but that is just me.
All in all a great day and I might even head back tomorrow to do some trading. If I get the camera out and my friend is there will take a picture of some more tradebait and the hockey graded cards he has including some of his 50's and 60's high end PSA's. Would love to pick some of that stuff up but the dollars would kill me to shell out.

I actually made it this time; I was there on Saturday for about an hour, and picked up a few nice things. Got an Andre Woodson Press Pass Gold RC #'d /100, and a Tayshaun Prince GU and some Tayshaun base I needed for my collection. Next month we'll have to coordinate more and actually meet up there!

I was there as usual. Talked to Don for awhile and then got ready to come back home for the draft. Picked up a few small things not much.
