Just in case you somehow missed the news, Saturday, April 3 is National Trading Card Day. According to the official website, www.nationaltradingcardday.com , participating sports card stores across the country will be giving away (while supplies last) packages of one-of-a-kind multi-sport cards.

all I know is, I can 99% guarantee that the 2 local card shops near me won't be giving away free cards, unless it's the $0.05 commons

I CAN'T WAIT.. I wonder if the cards will actually be worth something? are they numbered or are they base cards? any idea?

The official website , doesn't appear to have the answers to your questions, as far as I can tell. If you have a good relationship with your local card shop, then perhaps they have the answers. Otherwise, it looks like we'll have to wait until Saturday.

Ohhh yeah....that is this coming saturday!!

I will be setting up at a card show. I think I will put together 10 card lots of star players and give them out to the customers at the show! Thanks for making this thread, I would have totally zoned this out :)
