Hot card man. I got flamed when I bought my Vick a few months back. I needed it for a set lol.

He is a hell of a player, hopefully he can get back on track.

Monday, January 5: Setting The Cat (Or Dog) Among The Pigeons

    http://blog.redskins.com/2009/01/05/...g-the-pigeons/

Posted Jan 5th 2009 9:30AM by Matt Terl (author feed)
The debate has been going since August, at least on this blog: can Jason Campbell be the starting quarterback of the Washington Redskins?

In his favor: basic numbers. Campbell had more than 3,000 yards passing, twice as many touchdowns as interceptions, and a 62% completion percentage in his first year as a starter. Also, all of those numbers have improved every year he's been in the league and there's no reason to believe that he's plateaued. In fact, Campbell doesn't even understand why this is a question.

Working against him: a perceived lack of big play ability, a sense that he holds the ball too long, and the general truth that the backup quarterback always seems like a terrific plan -- especially when the (third string) guy is a charismatic rookie who put up frankly ridiculous numbers in college. (Todd Collins, for whatever reason, has largely been left out of the debate.)

The debate has gotten heated at times, but I suspect that "heated" won't even begin to cover it if a suggestion made by Rick Snider at the Examiner comes anywhere close to fruition: Snider is suggesting that the Redskins sign former dog-fighting enthusiast Michael Vick to "spice things up".
I'm not saying the Redskins should sign Vick. He would have to be the right fit for the offense and still have something left after two seasons away. But, Vick's talent is unquestionable and certainly he could help a 19th-ranked offense.

When trying to figure ways over the offseason to upgrade a team mired in mediocrity with a quarterback who hasn't won over fans in four years, it's worth a discussion.
Right. Because if a nice guy with solid but uninspiring statistics hasn't won over fans, why not bring in one of the single most divisive figures in recent sports history? That's sure to settle folks right down.

And, as far as "worth a discussion," here's the discussion as I see it: a quarterback with a career completion percentage of 53.8% is just about the worst imaginable fit for the West Coast-style offense Coach Zorn has been trying to install.

So, to summarize: as long as you're willing to ignore fan backlash and a complete mismatch of personnel and offensive scheme, this is a terrific idea. I suppose Snider is correct on one thing, though: this would certainly "spice things up" around here.

Which is great, because, you know, what any NFL team really needs is more drama.
