Yi Jianlian in Manhattan
I guess you can call it a success. I read last night that Yi was going to be signing at a Pathmark in Chinatown. Of course, I had no cards of him in the house, so I was sorta stuck. On my way from work to the signing, I figured I'd stop at the card shop nearest the signing, so I tried to go to Chameleon Comics near WTC. The problem is, there is no street parking ANYWHERE down there. I drove around a bit and couldn't find a spot for blocks, so I decided to go straight to the store figuring they'd have promo photos for him to sign.
It turns out there weren't too many people there, I got there at 3:30 for a 4pm signing and I was 5th in line. The promo item they had him signing was a Western Union photo holder, and the Nets schedules they had contained Brook Lopez on the cover.
Wasted trip basically. The funny thing was NOBODY there had any photos or basketball cards for him to sign. Not a single "grapher" there for him. If I found out about 5 hours earlier, I would have had time to hit up my local shop and grab a few cards.
Oh well, live and learn.

What?? I didn't hear anything about this, where did you find out about this signing? I live 5 blocks from that Pathmark and I could've gotten a basketball for him to sign. Oh well, but congrats though on the success.

I read it on signingshotline, and it was by mistake as I was looking for something else. I tried hitting up Chameleon near the WTC, but parking was impossible and I didn't want to risk getting my car towed by leaving it in the Pathmark lot and walking to the shop and then back to the Pathmark. I know Manhattan parking is bad, but that part is terrible unless you want to pay to park it.
