I was stupid and totally forgot to buy padded mailers at
Wal-Mart last night...DOH :confuse:

Anyways, I will not be able to send the goods until Monday,
as the PO is closed here now. I am really sorry about my
lack of mental fortitude...LOL

Rima --- don't waste money on padded mailers

go to the post office, and ask to get a couple of their large sized priority boxes

Then, cut them into the same shape as a top loader.

put the card in b/t 2 card board pieces that you've cut out.

put a piece of tape on each side

mail in a regular envelope

costs $0.37, as it will fit through a mail meter

and sturdy enough so that it's not likely to bend

You can send 1-3 cards this way for $0.37 (might want to check with post office to make sure it's not 0.49)

and up to 35 cards in a regular envelope for $1.06

In my opinion, it's just a lot easier and more hassle free to buy bubble mailers.

1. Regular envelopes go through machines, machines that bend as they go through a conveyor (I've seen this on TV when they did a special on what goes on behind the scenes of a Postal Office hehe)

2. Putting 2 pieces of cardboard in an envelope = increase in weight = increase in postage. Sometimes you might get away with it, but an anal postal worker will send a letter back sometimes (seen it happen, takes 2 weeks to get letter back to SENDER).

3. RECYCLE...yes, somebody has to buy bubble mailers to begin with, but it surprises me that nobody re-uses mailers that they get from trades. Open them carefully, save them, take off postage and other stick-on paraphenilia (sp?), cross out addresses with a black marker....and viola! Works just as good.

Good point e1....I do recycle at times, but seemd I can never get them to open so i can reuse...lol

Anyways, e1 I made very recent trades with (last 3 days), your cards
are on their way! E1 else (the not so recent) should be receiving anytime :D

good thoughts on them all.

First, I sell Garbage Pail Kids cards on Ebay.

I mail out 30-40 cards at a time in 2 cardboard pieces. I go to the post office, they meter it, and it costs $1.06

I've been doing this for the past year. No problems with any being bent.

So, that's how my experience has been.

In the trades I've done here, I've sent cards in the same method above, and hasn't been a problem.

I agree on bubble mailers if the card is a valuable one.
