    Mindcrime1981 - Brett Favre

Congrats to Kyle (mindcrime1981), on a truly impressive collection. Brett Favre is one of those players who due to so many subsets will almost be impossible to ever meet the percentages we ask, but I am sure no one can doubt his great collection. Truly one of the great Super Collections we have of a great Super Player. Both collector and player are Hall of Famer's!

Application for my Brett Favre collection into the Super Collector Hall of Fame:

    Total Cards Owned: 1,729

    Base/Insert Cards Owned: 1,629

    Game Used Cards Owned: 88

    Autographed Cards Owned: 12

    Total BV of Collection: $19,917

    Collection Highlights:
    (4) 1991 Stadium Club RCs
    (2) 1992 Stadium Club

Complete Topps Chrome Flight to 420 Set (1-442)

I can list them all, but I'll post the links to the pics to save room:

Other Favre items NOT accounted for:

I realize that my # of cards owned isn't close to the requirment, but Beckett online says Favre has almost 12,000 cards produced...I was hoping to get in based on value of my collection. Let's see what happens. Thanx for considering my collection!

Kyle - awesome job and collection...cool to complete the 420 set!

Here's my TOP TEN questions for the supercollector (scans would be cool too!)!
    1. What is your #1 favorite card?
    2. What is your favorite parallel or insert (not auto or GU)?
    3. What is your favorite Auto card?
    4. What is your favorite GU card?
    5. What is the best story in regards to obtaining a specific card?
    6. What is your best "steal" for your collection?
    7. What is the most expensive card in your collection...what did it cost you?
    8. What one specific card has eluded you till this day? and why?
    9. What specific card (non base) do you have the most of?
    10. How do you store your collection?

    Thanks!

First off, Thanx guys, for the complements & its a real honor to be in the Super Collector HOF. Also, getting Kudos from Jaderock is a great honor as well. Thanx!!!

Here are the A's to your Q's:

    1. What is your #1 favorite card?
    1997 Donruss Preferred Precious Metals

    2. What is your favorite parallel or insert (not auto or GU)?
    1998 Bowan's Best Atomic Refractor /100

    3. What is your favorite Auto card?
2000 Donruss Preferred QBC Pen Pals Dual Auto w/Elway /40

    4. What is your favorite GU card?
2007 Topps Triple Threads Triple relic w/ Marino & Elway...This is one of the few Favre GU cards I've pulled myself, and is the most expensive Favre card ($100) I've pulled...and it was my wife that opened the pack!

    5. What is the best story in regards to obtaining a specific card?
I was a big Favre fan from the time he started his first game, but wasn't big into football cards till I pulled this one in 1997 (the middle card on the page)...Its THE card that started me on my way to the collection I have now...1996 Leaf Gold Stars /2500:

    6. What is your best "steal" for your collection?
I bought one (1) pack of 2006 Donruss Threads...pulled a Reggie Bush Lettermen/auto RC. BV at the time was $900. I held onto it for a couple months only to see it drop to $800 BV, then $650 BV...

I was perusing Ebay one day & saw this:
    2005 Exquisite Quad Auto (Favre/Hornung/Green/Adderley) #'d /10

I asked the guy if he'd trade for the Bush & he bit...the Bush now books for $250...essentially I paid $4 for that Quad Auto!!!

    7. What is the most expensive card in your collection...what did it cost you?
    I'm not sure...this one books for $800:

But the 1/1 buyback auto posted up above could go for more...Both cost me around $500.

    8. What one specific card has eluded you till this day? and why?
I have yet to get a 1/1 Logo Favre card...maybe some day

    9. What specific card (non base) do you have the most of?
I try to stay away from dups. I am trying to get as many different cards as I can, but RCs I take any, and I have 19 Upper Deck RCs.

    10. How do you store your collection?
GUs, Autos, and any card that I really like get put in Screwdowns/Toploaders, then gets a spot in my wallhanging cases. All the Base & Inserts go in binders, sorted by year & cataloged in an Excel spreadsheet I built.
