    Bob Knight

It is being reported that Bob Knight has told Texas Tech he will not accept salary from the 2002-2003 season because he didn't get out of his team what he expected to. He told the university to do whatever good they can with the money. Say what you want about the guy, but you got to love his love for the game and respect him as a coach. ESPN said is base salary is only 250,000 which I think is a complete joke if that's all he's getting paid.

Bobby Knight is awesome, he always seems to get the best out of his teams (well atleast in Indiana) and his love for the game is unmatched

    Publicity stunt.

Its not like he is not making $$ this year. His base salary is probably < 50% of his total compensation this year, counting sponsors, endorsements, camps, etc.

Yep, I'm sure he makes a more on all his side stuff than the actual gig.

Call it what you want but there's college coaches making over a million a year and they're not giving any of their salary back for a ™™™™ty year.

Being a IU fan and having watch IU bkb for years, I have to say knight is a stand up guy, this guy grad's his players, even though very few good on to have great NBA careers, but they succeed outside of the NBA in what ever careers, it once said he has like a 99% graduation rate which is unheard of. The team work that he teaches and stresses will go a long way for these youngster that he teaches. In these days and the old days you have to be a tough hard-nosed coach.

Even though he had some of the incidents, he is still loveds in Indiana, if it were up to the fans they would take him back, he has taught Davis how to be a very good coach.

In highschool for instance if I were to go to the newspapers about some of our coaches the press would have their heads, it goes on everywhere, you don't want to know how many times I have been hit by a coach. anybody who has played sports know the drill, you screw up and you get popped. and you stand there and take it like a man. and you know everybody on the team behind you is laughing, but you can't wait until the next person screws up so you can laugh too. but you never make that mistake of going after that fly ball laxy or not getting your butt down on a grounder.

yall know what I am talking about.

Yes, exactly man, and football is even worse. Also, I would love to know how a smack upside the head is worse than making a football team do bearcrawls? Anyone who has ever done bearcrawls knows exactly what I mean.
