    Browsing/Subscribing to Events

The Sports Card Forum (SCF) Events Page allows card show promoters, card shops and other people in the sports card/memorabilia industry to promote their events to SCF members and visitors. SCF members can:

    • Browse current events by category on the main page
    • Use the calendar to see what events are occurring on a specific day
    • Search events by category, state, city and or other custom search words
    • Set up e-mail subscriptions to have specific events sent directly to you e-mail the instance they are uploaded
    • Set up SMS/text-message alerts to your cell phone
    • Comment on/rate events
    • Add events in your area!

Browsing the Main SCF Events Page

The most current events will be displayed in quadrants based on the following categories:

    • Sports Card Shows
    • Card Shop Events
    • Conventions
    • Professional Sport Events
    • Athlete Signings and Evetns
    • Other events

At the top of the main page you will see a navigation bar, featured event banners, a calendar and options to "Advance Search", "Manage Subscriptions" and a "RSS Generator" to add automatic feeds to your blog or website.

    1. BROWSING THE MAIN EVENT PAGE

Just under the navigation bar, top banners and options you can browse current events by categories. Mouse over an event and you will see some basic details of the events (title, location, all restriction and cost).

Click on the event to see full details on the event.

    2. EVENT PAGES OVERVIEW

Each event listing will display a description with dates, times and ways to share the event (social bookmarks/networks) or add the event to your calendars (Google, Yahoo, iCalendar and vCalendar). At the top-right of the description you can set up a SMS/Text Message reminder to your cell phone. Just above the SMS reminder you can rate the event.

The second half of the events page will provide directions and contact information.

Google Maps will automatically populate the bottom of each event page with easy access to directions from your location. Just below the Google Maps will be a comment section for you to leave feedback on the event.

    4. SETTING UP YOUR E-MAIL SUBSCRIPTIONS

SCF Members can set up their preferences so they will get an e-mail notification every time a new event is loaded in their area or based on their preferences. To set up your e-mail notifications simply click on "Subscribe" in the navigation bar and click on "Manage Subscriptions" or click on "Manage Subscriptions" underneath the calendar at the top-right of the main events page. Either one will take you to the e-mail and SMS/text Message subscription page.

Simply select the events that you want to subscribe to. Use CTRL or SHIFT to select multiple events. Subscribing by state/country coming soon!

    5. SETTING UP YOUR SMS/TEXT MESSAGE SUBSCRIPTIONS
Just under the e-mail subscription is the SMS subscription option powered by ZeepMobile.com. Simply type in your phone number, set up your ZeepMobile.com account and confirm your phone number (takes 2 minutes!). This will allow you to set up text message reminders for specific events that are sent directly yo your cell phone!

    More tutorials coming soon!
