Of course, KB is one of the craziest through whole NBA history.

But...Opponent of 1995 Magic was Rockets.

If I were not wrong, Kenny Smith made career high and one of NBA PO record at Final game # 1 - 7/11 3pt.

And they won the series.

IMO that Rockets was one of the craziest team through entire NBA history.

Robert Horry - only 3rd year player but not like that.

Sam Cassell - the same like Horry. Only Sophomore player.

Mario Elie - has size and nice role player.


Of course, I think this year Lakers is still very strong.
(Most of Part is from KB and another part is from Gasol and Odom)
But not like that Rockets, IMO.
(Lakers has a little hole like Fisher -sometimes makes too many mistakes, Bynum - foul trouble and can't use full his hardware.
Of course KB recovers everytime that hole though..)

Kenny Smith is an idiot. I seem to recall he predicted the Cavs would take the Magic in 5 and laughed derisively at Charles Barkley when he called that series for Orlando.

The '95 Magic team had arguably more talent, but Shaq wasn't in his prime yet, Penny was just in his second year, and Nick Anderson/Dennis Scott were infamous chokers. Dwight may not be in his prime yet, either, but I'll take the current Magic's supporting cast over that one - Turkoglu is a great clutch shooter as well as an apparent assist machine lately, Rashard Lewis can score inside and out, Rafer Alston is a solid true point guard and good defender, and Pietrus/Lee are nice, athletic wing defenders.

I also think 2009 Magic is very nice team. I like DH12.(not much though)

But 1995 Magic had nice players,too

Horace Grant, Nick Anderson and Dennis Scott. Brian Shaw was not bad.

I loved the '95 Magic of course, but who knows which are better. If you remember though the '95 Magic did get swept, but the scores were fairly close in every game. The new Magic may get swept too, but the deficits may all be over twenty points per game. I'd go w/the old Magic due to this. It's just one of those things that I knew they weren't gonna win back then b/c they did not have enough experience, but you always want to pull for the underdog and I was also as big a SHAQ fan back then as I am now. Of course now I do think the '09 Lakers are better than the '95 Rockets also.
