Whatever happened to... Matt Bush edition.
2004 Number 1 Draft pick
With the draft yesterday and today, it got me wondering, whatever happened to Matt Bush? To some of you that keep up with this stuff, it might be old news, but I thought others may find it interesting/sad nonetheless. Seriously, what a waste. Dude's a walking stereotype. Oh, how the MLB draft is such a fickle mistress.

He was a reach in the draft. Probably a 1st/2nd rounder, but should've been nowhere near the top 10, nevermind #1. Pads wanted a local kid with talent who would come cheap (like Joe Mauer but with 1/3 the talent).
After three years of complete fail as a SS, the Padres decided to convert Bush to a pitcher. He started well, but blew his elbow out.
To top it all off, he was a headcase. Arrested a couple of times, once right after he was drafted. Was traded to the Blue Jays earlier this year for a couple of bats. Blue Jays released him about six weeks after the trade sighting a "zero tolerance behavorial policy." Released and presumably out of baseball
