I'm new in bball hobby and need some advice
Hi everyone,
Since i am a basketball addict (coach and player at different level) i'd like to start collecting basketball.
I already have a nice hockey collection and i know how the hobby is working.
Since i have no idea about bvs in basketball, i'd like to know which brand have high sell and trade value, which product to avoid etc...
I'm a HUGE raptors fan and my favorite player is by far Andrea Bargnani (does he have any hobby love ? ). Also, i really like Turkoglu and since he's been trade to TOR, i like him even more so i would consider starting a Turkoglu and Bargnani PC (would it be costly ?). Paul Milsapp, Josh Smith, Deron Williams would be another pick.. (any comments ?).
Also, i am a big time NBA watcher and i know a lot about this sport. My favorite prospect would be Courtney Lee or Rudy Fernandez (IMO dunk contest winner)... BTW by favorite, i don't mean the best :P
So give me your advice and maybe ill start collecting another sport :)

Off topic: Rudy Fernandez is a beast.

always nice to have another raptors fan around. I'm pretty sure you won't find it too difficult to start a Bargnani and/or Turkoglu PC since their SV are not very high. You should be able to find alot of their cards for fairly cheap.

Glad to hear that barn and hedo are cheap. Barn will be better than dirk in a near futur so i guess he would be a nice investment. I also love Chris Bosh but i guess he is very tough to collect!

Nah Bosh isn't tough to collect at all. Compared to players like Melo, Bron, and Wade, his stuff seems fairly cheap. I guess because he doesn't get much publicity in the States. I used to collect both Bosh and Bargnani, but I've recently decided to stop collecting individual players and just go for sets. I've been selling all the cards to raise money for a case. I still have lots of Bargs and Bosh left in my bucket for sale. Take a look under the PC section and lmk if there's anything you like.

I think you could have a a great PC of Bargnani and Turkoglu, they are both great players but they are not as highly sough after as say Kobe, Lebron, Wade etc. Whay I'm saying is they seem like they would be good players to easily collect. Same for the other players you mentioned, though I think Deron Williams is rising fast.

Hey guys thanks for your time !
I think i'm gonna start a PC of Barn and Hedo. I will also try to focus on the raptors. I'm sure derozan will play this year and his rookie cards wont be hard to get since he's only the ninth pick. And by collecting lee, fernandez and milsapp i think i wont loose because those guy have really bright futures.
As for Josh Smith, i know he is really dumb and selfish at time on the court, but i like his style and elevation (IMO the best ''in-game'' dunker since Shawn Kemp) and if it's like in hockey, i guess collecting this player will be cheap also...
