Angry Case chippings on BGS Orders

I recently had some cards sent into grading and got them back recently:
2004 Bowman Chrome Gold Refractors Larry Fitzgerald RC BGS 9.5
2004 UD Legends Legendary Signatures Barry Sanders Auto BGS 9.5/10
1998 Skybox Autographics Blue Randy Moss RC Auto BGS 9/10
2004 UD Finite Barry Sanders BGS 9.5/10
2008 Topps Flight to 420 Brett Favre Auto BGS 8/10

On the Favre and Fitzgerald, there were chippings on the cases. I am outraged. Why doesn't Beckett send back cards with some interior in the boxes. Maybe some bubble wrap or styrafoam. All this money they ask for, they can't properly package this order. Just leaving cards in a box won't properly take care of these cards. Has anybody else had any problems like this and what did you do about it?

Just wondering how much did it cost you to get each card graded?

What kind of package did they ship it in? I ask because they shouldn't chip in the package and that would lead me to believe that they were probably that way to begin with.

They were shipping in a rectangular box. They just balled up some paper to fill in the empty space that was left in the box.

I've often wondered why they just put thier ol plastic sleve , that came from CHINA where they buy the holders from!, over the slabbed card and send them back to you..This gives me the A** also. Sometimes your cards will come back to you with scratched or chipped holders. It's like they don't give a crap. I always send them back with a nasty note telling them to reslab the cards and they always do it, no questions asked. I'm like you though, do it right the first time and don't waste my time with having to send cards back to you!...In this time where all graders are hurting, you'd think one of them would try to rise above. I guess that's why they take your money FIRST. I would still rather have a BGS slab though, but they need to tighten' up a tad.

Yea, I've heard about that before on the BGS board. They don't include anything to protect cards, just the order form the fold up that you refered to. From what I remember BGS just had the submitters send the cards for reholdering w/ their next order. They did the reholdering for free but the submitters had to cover shipping.

I've read where this happens w/ PSA as well and usually they approach the issue the same way BGS does.

I'm not sure why they let damaged holders out there doors. Like you said, you'd think a grading company would want to take the lead in this economy.

BGS slab is still easily the best.

It's not that they let them out the door, it's fact that they don't pkg them properly for shipment back to you. Again trying to make a buck and screwing the customer on return shipping.
