Just me or is Panini ruining set designs

I have got to say first and foremost the Score and inscriptions are the worst design I have seen on any product. I just took a peak at the 09 r&s and almost puked. These guys are doing a horrible job as far as product design is going. I just hope they leave elite alone it's hasn't changed much and the classics design was ok too. most importantly pleeeeeeeeaaaaaaase don't mess up contenders. LMK what u guys think about their new designs.

contenders has been terrible looking for the past few years, so any change is a good change
i dont like elite or score this year- they are too busy, but I think the classics look is the best in a while

I always thought Donruss didn't have the best card designs before Panini bought them. Some designs were really nice like 07 LCM and some were awful like 08 prestige. I'm not a fan of the design of prestige or classics this year though. I think Topps is still king when it comes to horrible designs and it's going to be awfully hard for anyone to take there spot.

You are right Topps does have a bad design consistantly, but they never try to have one either. They pretty much know that ur going to get a very basic design. The donruss products though the opposite was true. They were always trying to come up w/ some sleak new design.

That score design is nothing like they have ever put out w/ the crazy white and black speckled border. I agree with what ur saying I just find it hard to believe that a product w/o a border for consecutive years would make such a huge change.

Based on what i've seen and previews:

Elite - same as always - very nice design.
Certified - look similar to last year's threads(inserts) not bad at all
Threads - look a lot like certified, so not bad at all
Prestige - same as expected. maybe slight downgrade from 08
Absolute - mostly clean, a little downgrade from last year
Classics - very average, better than 07 but worse than most other years.
score/inscriptions: design is awful though inscriptions give decent hits.
R&S - worst of them all, terrible looking

score was designed before the buyout, wait until you see rookies and stars! BARF!
