"Best Music Poll 2009 - Boston"

So every year in Boston, "101.7 WFNX" radio station (92.1 in NH) hold's a "Best Music Poll" free concert.
This year was at City Hall Plaza in Boston. It was August 1st from 4-11 p.m. There were 6 bands who played, including:

    The Bravery
    Airborne Toxic Event
    Gaslight Anthem
    Metric
    Passion Pit
    Ra Ra Riot

And this is a FREE concert. You're free to roam around wherever you want.
Anyways, my favorite band out of them is "Airborne Toxic Event". They played from 8:45-9:30.
And after them, The Bravery played from 10:00-11:00.

So as Bravery was playing and half way done, we started to head back to the T station. But as we walked by we saw that in a tent sponsered by "F.Y.E.", the entire "Airborne Toxic Event" band was there for fans.
(You had to buy they're CD From FYE, then the band would sign it, and you could get picture)

PLEASE NOTE: Every Band Did This Throughout the Evening- I'm just telling what had happened when i had walked by...

So we bought the album by them (which i already had at home, but i figured an autographed one would be an amazing addition). And as we got in line, 3 of them started to leave, but still signed the autographs and got pictures as they left.

I got pictures with the Mikel Jollet (lead singer), Noah Harmon (guitarist), and Daren Taylor (drummer). Steven and Anna (keyboard and violin) i got the autos, but not pictures.

And the funny part was, Steven signed the CD Jacket twice! lol!

The whole band was very nice, made great poses with us in the pictures, and were very welcoming, and made jokes, etc.

It was a great night, definatly didn't regret going!

Sounds cool, Are those all local bands from Boston? just wondering as i haven't heard of them. but then again i do live under a rock. I go to a lot of local shows in RI. Have you ever seen mouth sewn shut... i believe they are from Boston. Not sure if they are you kinda music though... they are kinda like a hardcore reggae band, really intense. I'll have to check out the bravery i like their name lol

    they aren't local bands, no.
The Bravery and Airborne Toxic Event are actually the most famous of the 6, and i was glad to have met the Airborne band.

But yea, it was a really good show. Hope to go next year!

I don't know all of them, but at least a few are nationally known bands. I got into the Bravery a few years ago...pretty good powerpop stuff. I haven't listened to much of their recent stuff though.

Very cool experience and free concerts are always good!

I've only heard of the Bravery. Isn't The National or Vampire Weekend from Boston?
