I think the economy right now is not better but is not worst. It is on a neutral place right now. Luckily for me, I have not felt the changes on the economy. I am a active duty military member so I don't see myself with out a job for any time soon. But I have some close friends back home that are struggling bad. And I really feel sorry for them. They have to find something to fix this mess, this is driving people crazy and the robberies and criminality is just going to go up.

DING DING DING... we have a winner. There was a politician from texas that was proposing a tax holiday back in january where they would do away with the income tax for 3 or 4 months. That would give every american that pays taxes THEIR OWN money to spend on what they need or want to help boost the economy. It's also very similar to the Fair Tax proposal that has been around for some time now. If you haven't read it you should check it out. I'm not sure if the system is perfect but it seems very well thought out and I know I would love to receive my full paycheck every other week and decide what taxes I pay by what I purchase.
That said, politicians will NEVER go for it because they think it may take their power away.
Think of all the power, favors, and kickbacks that the Bush and Obama administrations received from giving OUR money to any company that got stimulus money? They use our money to get things from others to help them stay in power. That is typically a politicians number one goal.

I think too many people (to include myself) would have heart failure if that ever happened. It would be the equivalent to discovering life on Mars.

thanks for the linkage JeRmZ. I should have posted it myself.
I'd love for some version of this to be enacted. I've yet to 100% believe the theory that goods would come down due to less taxes for companies, but guess that the market would adjust down as long as business stayed competitive. I know I'd love to not have to worry about doing my taxes every year. The amount of money companies and individuals waste on preparing taxes is simply ridiculous.
