right. he was released from a scottish Prison. Not Guantonimo. think about it. Its not that hard. Is it really that wise to give all of the terrorists to other countries spread out all over the Globe? America had no control over this guys release, just like we would have no control over anyone else's release from prisons in other countries.

WE are closing Guantanamo. We are sending terrorsits to prisons in other countries. They could be released from those prisons just like this guy and we would have no control over it.

People act like it's a surprise he was greeted so warmly, to them he's a freedom fighter. What do you think people who don't like the US think when they see our soldiers returning home with people waiving American flags? It kind of goes both ways.
As a professor I've had who is an expert on terrorism says, "One person's terrorist is another person's freedom fighter."

Except in America where the left spits on soldiers returning from serving our country, demonizes them in the press, and plays politics with their lives, while portraying terrorists as victims of our oppression.
