FACT CHECK: Health overhaul myths taking root
Interesting Fact VS. Perception article - it looks like the $40 Million a day to scare us is working:
"The judgment is harsh in a new poll that finds Americans worried about the government taking over health insurance, cutting off treatment to the elderly and giving coverage to illegal immigrants. Harsh, but not based on facts...."

I think the biggest problem here is nobody is saying anything. All you hear about is how they are going to reform healthcare, but give no details of the plan. I think many people are just concerned by how fast and how hard the White House is pushing this refrom without giving any information.
And I really dont understand how it can be said that illegals are not going to be covered . It is going to be the same as it is right now, they will walk into the ER and get treatment. Then what happens I dont think they are going to turn away if you are here illegally and we all still end up paying in the long run.

exactly. You cant blame public perception when perception is all we have to go by. We know what democrats want and what they have said in the past. I also know to trust logic over a politicians word. Especially when its obvious that they are telling lies. Logic- They say that it wont cover illegal immigrants. Why do they include illegal immigrants in the 45 million uninsured Americans number that they constantly repeat? They say that rationing and death panels arent in he bill. There is a misconception that it ever would be in the bill. It wouldnt. Rationing is a result, a consequence that is almost guaranteed to happen if this passes.

I love the word rationing- when my health insurance now tells me they will cover one type of test to figure out why I keep having migraines but when the doctor says they would rather use a more accurate brain scan and my health insurance company says they won't cover that one, isn't that rationing already? We already have it guys, it just took opponents putting a name on it to worry people :-)

I'm trying to figure out these death panels they keep warning us about, do they not allready exist? with insurance companies refuse someone surgury because its too expensive... Its a **** shame that it happens once, let alone all the time

Are we really suppose to trust a "fact Check" for a guy that voted for Obama? Woodward is an AP writer and used to write for the San Francisco Chronicle.
Not to completely dismiss this article, but it is 100% an opinion piece. He is very deceptive in his article. For example:
THE POLL: 55 percent expect the overhaul will give coverage to illegal immigrants; 34 percent don't.
THE FACTS: The proposals being negotiated do not provide coverage for illegal immigrants.
Notice how he says, "The proposals being negotiated." That means current proposals. That leaves out any other past version that would have included illegal immigrants getting free health care.
THE POLL: 54 percent said the overhaul will lead to a government takeover of health care; 39 percent disagree.
THE FACTS: Obama is not proposing a single-payer system in which the government covers everyone, like in Canada or some European countries. He says that direction is not right for the U.S. The proposals being negotiated do not go there.
Oh, really? A complete lie as Obama states that he is a proponent of single payer health care in a speech.
This thread is the equivalent to me putting up a fact check by Hannity. It will be bias. The writer is pro-Obama and Democrat.

So what's the difference between this and threads that have articles that counter liberal ideology? We all use them to prove out points and they have some bias.

Typically, when I see Fact Check threads it is done by factcheck.org because they slam both sides and are very independent. This is the equivalant to Michael Moore running a fact check company.
I'm just posting a response. In Obama's own words he wants a Single Payer health care system and says it will take take. That alone dismisses much of Woodward"s claims.

Ok, I guess my point was directed articles and in general they always usually have some bias.

Its oviously Biased, but it also checks no facts and really has none to check. I read it again and it is pretty pointless and stupid.
