But comic book movies are a very tricky prospect. More resources don't necessarily mean a better movie. A lot of people (not saying you, I mean industry types) think as long as you pack in cool special effects and lots of action, it's a good comic book movie. People don't realize how discerning comic book fans are and that they do actually pay attention to story and plot development.

Very true, i don't remember reading Spider-man going Emo in any of my comic books :( and Venom lasted a lot longer than 5 mins

If they keep Marvel Studios as a separate entity and let them do their jobs with more resources and no interference, yeah, should be a good thing. If they try to absorb Marvel and put out Marvel movies with another studio and just go for blockbusters, it won't be good.

I've said before how much I hate CGI and big explosions for the sake of having CGI and big explosion. Hence my distaste for Michael Bay.

Don't get me wrong, I hope Disney leaves the Marvel division alone for the most part. Marvel has a history of financial problems, and the movie industry is a hard industry to survive in, this sale gives them a huge safety net. Plenty of terrible comic book movies will come out, but it wont necessarily be Disney's fault, most movies are bad. Now when Marvel does have a serious dud, it won't be the end.

Another thing I remembered while falling asleep last night....

Right now Marvel superheros are spread out through different studios. Sony has Spider-Man, Fox has Daredevil etc. Hopefully this deal would allow for more crossover (in movies and T.V). I'd love to see The Kingpin in a Spider-Man movie.

Just for the record, Daredevil needs another chance.

I think the one of the main issues with Marvel movies is their choice of actors to portrait those superheros.
