I Gotta Know What People Think
A soldier comes home severely injured, in need of several surgeries from the VA. His surgery bills need paying.
A girl has sex and gets pregnant. Doesn't want the baby. Her abortion bills need paying.
Is there a difference?

Absolutely. The state owes it to those who risk their lives on its behalf to provide for them. If you get knocked up and don't like it, too bad. Should have used birth control.

Nothing is cut and dry. It is all gray. My best freind has been in Walter Reid for 7 months and will be there for almost another year. He lost his leg in Iraq. It is amazing to hear all of the stuff he gets. Dont get me wrong. I think he deserves it and anything else he ever wants. Im sure there are people all over the world, including me, who would give him whatever he wants. I wont say it concerns me....Its just astonishing to see how many injured soldiers there are and how much money we spend for them. He is covered for 12 prosthetic legs. I guess thats in a lifetime, but they have different kinds now for different activities. He got a swimming Leg last week. Anyway, i'd rather pay for over the top outlandish things for wounded soldiers than pay for abortions. I'd rather the government mandate Xbox 360's and 10 games a year for every wounded soldier than pay for abortions. I think there is no comparison when it comes to sacrifice. These 2 things cant really be compared. On the other hand, from a financial standpoint, It may be wise to cover abortion if the woman is not insured. If she is poor, then abortion is cheaper than the money taxpayers will spend on the child by A LOT.
so.....Obviously there is a difference, and if you are asking to choose, its obviously the soldiers that deserve it.

I'm interested in hearing from the person who said that the soldier shouldn't be covered, but the girl should. Either they have some very interesting thoughts, or decided to "have fun." Boring life, I reckon.

They might have just been trying to be funny, or trying to strike up conversation.

The soldier deserves to have his bills paid.. It was the woman's choice to not use protection
