CHIT-CHAT FF: Week 5 Wrap
WEEK 5 WRAP
Only two relatively close games, what a boring fantasy week. 4 out of the 6 games were decided by a mere 44 points or more...pretty shameful actually. The last undefeated team went down and 1 of the last 2 winless teams picked up that elusive first victory. And now there's a log jam at mediocrity...7 of the 12 teams are either 3-2 or 2-3.
Recap of the Match ups
Stratusfaction @ Novacaine - I'm glad I picked up DA as my bye week QB...garnered me a whopping -1 and the Worst Start of the Week trophy. 3 startes posting 0 points or less means the team that handed out the Worst Loss of the Week trophy last week is receiving it this week. LA had good play all around, including big games from Romo, Andre Johnson, and rookie Austin Collie. Stratusfaction now sits atop the Chit-Chat Throwdown league.
'Horns @ Hellbillies - The 'Horns are happy to see Braylon is off to a good start in NY, but even that wasn't enough to keep the Hellbillies from getting their first win of the year. Only 1 player with less than 7 points and big games from Big Brother Manning and Roddy White bring home that elusive first win for Texas.
Pillagers @ • PABS!!! - Michael Turner finally reels off the big game the Pope knew he was capable of. PABS had the answers for the Burner, but he left them sitting on the bench. Benson, Hasselbeck, and Choice were the only double digit scorers, but they were riding the pine...not one start posted 10 or more.
Dwarves @ That Thing - One of the reasonably close matchups this week, That Thing was trying to join the Hellbillies in shaking off the no win monkey. It was within their grasp too, but 2 of the 3 WRs posted a goose egg, while Burleson posted 21 on the bench. The Dwarves posted 2 zeroes of their own, but still managed to pull out the win, leaving That Thing in the Throwdown cellar.
Blunts @ EFFECT!! - Another ugly box score courtesy of the EFFECT, but they didn't have anyone on their bench that would have made it any better. A combined total, starters and bench, of 54 points has to be one of the worst showings I've ever seen. The Trucker is hoping it's just another case of the bye week blues...either way, the Blunts are fine with picking up their 2nd win.
Ramrod @ Victors - The Victors gave a noble effort to retain their unbeaten status, but the Ramrod was just too good all around. Dan Carpenter just wasn't enough to hold off a charging Ronnie Brown on MNF. Ramrod's solid week earns them the Position of the Week award for the Vikings scoring 20 points and the Bench of the Week award for 77 points riding the pine.

All perfection has to come to an end eventually. Mitch gets his props, though, for knocking me off, although this week it wasn't particularly hard with me having some real duds in my lineup.

wow...i thought 11chaos was in this league and was the 11 dwarves

i started burleson & bradshaw in my main league and put up 149 points....burleson has more targets than housh, and bradshaw leads the giants in rushing...bradshaw is nasty and has an incredible 6.5 yards per carry average

Bradshaw is definitely a stud...and he's plugged in Derrick Ward's spot from last year where he picked up over 1,000 yards behind Jacobs. I think Bradshaw could top that.

my team is on a downward spiral, I think I would have been better off leaving all my players on the bench this week. What a bunch of crap!!!

Finally, a win. My team showed why I was voted preseason favorite.
I've propelled myself to #2 in scoring...only two points behind the leader. To bad this isn't a scoring league.
Showdown with Mr. Commish this week!
