Why I can't wait to get artifacts
I think artifacts is by far the best product for the money. It gives people like me, who can't afford black, the cup, ultimate, ect, a chance to pull something with a patch on it. Although I have never pulled a patch card, I still hold out hope that artifacts will deliver. I only opened on box of last years product, and hopefully the job market will be nice to me and deliver me a job so I can pay off the bills and bust some artifacts.
What are you opinions on the best product for the dollar? Again keep in mind that I can't afford more than say... $150 a box at the MOST.

It goes to show that there is indeed something out there for everybody. A lot of people immensely dislike Artifacts for all of the parallels, but it's a thread like this that reminds people of why we're here: because we like to collect cards. To a degree I can see why some folks get agitated when they see another 40 cards of their guy in the latest release--heck, I count 19 new Carey Price cards in Artifacts alone--but isn't the chase the biggest part of the thrill? I'd be overjoyed if I could get Gorges in more than one release per season!
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

UD series 1 might be the best product to flip, artifacts is a good mid-end product with the patches and 1/1. You could get a box of ud series 1 and artifacts for about $150.

IMO Artifacts is THE best bang for your buck. Again just my opinion. I dont go much over $150 a box as well, never gotten the Cup, Black, OPCP etc... Artifacts has some cool parallels, reg jersies, sweet patches, autos, a TON of 1/1's for a product this inexpensive, and a great mix of young, standard, and older players! I kinda look forward to the Wild and team Redemptions each year, fun pulling a Wild and I usually grab a team RED cheap on the bay!
I know a lot of what I listed much of the hobby world does not like but different strokes for different folks!

All the parallels must really really suck for supercollectors

I'm not that big of a fan of Artifacts, mainly because of all the parallels, sticker autos, and rookie redemptions. That said I do like the design this year and have seen some nice stuff already. I'd say everything is a gamble and there is no "best bang for your buck" product (maybe UD1 and SPA if you get lucky with your rookies), it all comes down to chance. Personally, I'd probably rather go with a pack of ultimate for the same price as a box of artifacts because the caliber of players in ultimate is much better in my opinion, the patches fall pretty regularly, and there is always a chance at a shield. That said the last few packs of ultimate I busted were stinkers and I probably would have got maybe $10 return on the whole pack. Then there was a few packs before those where Sid pays a visit and it pays itself back and then some. Just luck of the draw.

UD Series 1 is my pick as well. Artifacts will be getting dumped again just like last year. If you really like the product, wait awhile and buy it for under cost down the road.

How much are you seeing them for? $150 sounded expensive but I may be mistaken.
