Mourning joining Nets
Alonzo Mourning has agreed to a tentative 4 year deal with the New Jersey Nets, and now Jason Kidd is leaning towards returning to the Nets now that Mourning is on the club.
I really don't think Mourning will do that much to help the Nets cause, but i guess you never know. What are they going to do with Mutumbo now? They still have Jason Collins as well.

I am not sure how Mourning will help
He's been battling kidney disease for the past several years.
How will his endurance stand up, esp. towards the end of the year and the play-offs?
Mutombo makes for a good 10-15 minutes; perhaps Mourning will do the same. That leaves Jason Collins as the starter.
Not bad.
With this line-up, assuming Mutombo and Mourning both play an effective 15 minutes each, the Nets will again make the Finals.
All other Eastern teams just have have the firepower
In Phila -- there's only A.I.
In Orlando -- there's only T-Mac
In Boston -- there's Paul Pierce (Antoine Walker basically just jacks up 3-pointers; and he's disappeared in the playoffs the last 2 years.
Nets are the best East team all around, with Kidd, Martin and 3 big centers

The Nets have improved, but the question is how Zo is going to play the whole season... and the West is still more loaded... look at the Lakers now!

Yup I think the Pistons are going to be the team to beat in the East.
I know the Nets kept Kidd and added Zo but the Pistons were the top seed last year in the East and Ben Wallace got hurt at the end so you really don't know what the team could have done if he stayed healthy.
Nets and Pistons look to be WAY ahead of all the other teams in the East.Selling All My Cards Here------>Hidden Content

I also think the Pistons will be tough to beat, but the Nets should still make the Finals again.
As for the west, there are just way too many good teams, but the early favorite to win the west will have to be the Lakers because of there recent additions.

If Zo's healthy then he's a GREAT addition to the Nets. Some real bangers with Kenyon and Zo underneath but Zo has been out for so long... will he still have it?
