  2. January 10, 2009: Florida Panthers

    Every hockey fan knows that every once in a while, there is one of those high scoring games. Well, this was certainly one of those.

    The games first goal was scored on a Florida penalty shot by M. Frolik (FLA) at 9:50 for his 9th goal on the season, giving the Panthers the lead 1-0. A couple minutes later, C.   3. January 8, 2009: New Jersey Devils

    For the first game of the second half of the hockey season, this was certainly upward looking for Thrashers fans!

    The first period began with no scoring at all. Both teams had penalty kills which lasted deep into the first, with the period ending at a 0-0 tie.

    The second period began with a goal for C. Armstrong (ATL) at 3:03 to give him his 11th on the season. Then a couple minutes later, I. Kovalchuk (ATL) got his 15th goal on the season at 5:31 on the ATL powerplay. ...

  4. January 6, 2009: Pittsburgh Penguins

    It was another embarrassing skate for the Thrashers last night in Pittsburgh.

    Didnt really get to see much of the game myself, but here is the recap.

    In the first, it was looking as if the Thrashers might be able to pull of the upset. At 17:10, P. Sykora (PIT) scored his 14th goal of the season on the Pittsburgh powerplay. Nothing else happened in the period as the Thrashers tried to tie it going into the first intermission.

    After the Thrashers amazing shootout win against the Canucks, they had another home contest against the division rival Tampa Bay Lightning.

    The game was sure to be tough, as the Lightning are led by Vincent Lecavalier and Matin St. Louis.
