It has been awhile and I apologize to those who follow my blog . It seems the same shineola is happening everyday and I have gotten so bored with the whole damn thing that I found it very difficult to to say anything. All the same garbage is still happening and to top it off with a cherry our favourite past time has decided to have a work stoppage.
This is the third lockout/strike since the little dictator has taken over as commish of the NHL and in all honesty I've had enough of his arrogant ways. There are far too many people thinking that they are more inportant then the game itself and they don't give a goshdarn thing about those of us in businesses surrounding hockey. I saw the quote from Shane Doan which painted him in a really negative light and my first reaction was seriously Shane ? You want me to feel sorry for you because you aren't making your millions ? You get paid one hell of a lot of money (in most cases more then most of us make in a lifetime) to PLAY A FREAKING GAME ! Give your head a shake and try to think of someone other then yourself for a change. Your stock in life went down a ton because of your ultimate stupidity. Okay so back to card collecting..............
As 2012 comes to a close a few notes from the card collecting world. Hockey cards for 12-13 have pretty much sucked with the exception of ITG products 'Forever Rivals' and 'History of Hockey'. The new year will see the release of another ITG product 'Heroes & Prospects' which should be decent with its player selection, new card technology and the huge honking jersey cards. Most Panini and Upper Deck hockey products were received with little or no interest mostly because of the lousy rookie cards and high product prices with little return. The new year for both of these card companies doesn't look promising with little to offer and prices either the same or higher then last year. With the huge decrease in hockey card sales comes an increase in baseball and football card sales thank God as well as Bryce Harper, Andrew Luck and RG III.
